Stuck for ideas on how to entertain yourselves and the kids this summer? Look no further than the Active Sunderland Beach Festival! On the 4th August at Roker Beach and Roker park ActiveSunderland is hosting an all day beach festival with something for everyone. Starting at 10am in the park we have structured games for young ones (up to 14 years) including space hopper racing, giant feet, circus skills and a scavenger hunt! As well as games Roker Park play area has been revamped to include Sunderland’s first water, music and sand play features to create a more natural and challenging play experience for children, which complement the park’s heritage. As well as all this there is a separate toddler play area, climbing unit, swings, slides, basket swing and pirate ship. Then from 12pm-7pm different activities will be taking place in the park and on the beach including beach volleyball, beach cricket, judo, tag rugby and to complement the International Beach Soccer tournament (see below), beach soccer! Led cycle rides and Nordic walking sessions will also be available every hour! If you've always wanted to find your sea legs there will also be an opportunity to try different water based activities such as sailing (tbc) There really will be something for everyone so come down to Roker on the 4th August from 10am to try something new!!
