As well as games Roker Park play area has been revamped to include Sunderland’s first water, music and sand play features to create a more natural and challenging play experience for children, which complement the park’s heritage. As well as all this there is a separate toddler play area, climbing unit, swings, slides, basket swing and pirate ship.

Then from 12pm-7pm different activities will be taking place in the park and on the beach including beach volleyball, beach cricket, judo, tag rugby and to complement the International Beach Soccer tournament (see below), beach soccer!

Led cycle rides and Nordic walking sessions will also be available every hour!

If you've always wanted to find your sea legs there will also be an opportunity to try different water based activities such as sailing (tbc)
